War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children.

No, it seems a LOT primitive and barbaric. I think it's part of our "fight or flight" mechanism--if we feel attacked, we either fight back or run away. And since we don't want people to think we're cowards, we usually fight back, even if what the other person, country, etc. did wasn't intended as an attack at all. But once we attack "back," the fight or flight mechanism kicks in for them too, and then both sides are screaming for war, even if there was nothing major involved at all.

Yes, but so does the idea of the average guy wanting to kick some tail just because someone said or did something that p*ssed him off.
It's ingrained in our culture on that level. We, or most of us, raise children to believe that violence is an acceptible response to anger. We may say differently, but we teach by the example of our own actions. A guy touches your lady, or talks trash on the basketball court, you start throwing fists, and if you don't, you're not a man. That's the real lesson we teach.
From there it's just a short jump to armies at war.

Definitely. And especially when troops are sent clear around the world to cause havoc in the name of oil. Has an Iraqi fired bullet 1 on American soil, I don't think so. Bully Bush would have been so much wiser spending the half trillion war dollars on solar cells and electric cars. Every house in America could have had them, now, at that cost. America could be selling them to the world too, and be proud, instead of ashamed.

More than a little, but when you are dealing with nations that are primitive and barbaric, how should a more advanced nation react?
Defending oneself is an unfortunate necessity.

It most certainly does! When I think of what is going on today, it reminds me of a group of five year olds that can't share toys or get along!
I know I'll get a lot of thumbs down for this comment but I think this world would have less wars if women were in charge!?

yes, but don't forget that even though humankind has nearly perfected the art of civilization, we still posses the primitive basic instincts in our brains...
