My dad is so overly strict on me. He wont let me go out and i always have to call him in 24/7 telling him where im going after school. The problem is im not a teenager anymore. im going to be 20. He always tells me to grow up, but he treats me like a kid. I have the freedom of a 6 year old basically. I know he cares and everything and i tried to talk to him but he's just so stubbourn. He always bringing up the old traditions and the teachings of islam when he thinks im doing something wrong. Plus he always lectures me about stupid stuff like Look both ways when crossing the street and dont talk to strangers. I'v been hearing this since i was a little kid.

Are you working and making your own money? If so then you shouldn't be putting up with it. If not, get a job- it's great leverage against parents. I don't know what your father's limit is, but I'd just tell him off and get it over with. Show him that you're an intelligent, capable person.

well if i was you i would have too make my dad trust me maybe the reason why he doing that because you are a female so if i was you i would do what i have to do no disrespect him or anything but i would have to do things on my own or let him know that hay i am grown and you don't need to kepp treating me like a kid and he would be easy on you instead of hard on you about things and he would stop be over proective and let you do what you want too

My best friends are muslim too and their dad was as strict. One married a Chilean guy (who is an awesome guy) and her dad had a hard time accepting him at first. But now they love him. I remember they just sat and had a long talk with him and their mom. They earned their trust and everything was fine. But my suggestion is sit and have an adult conversation with him and tell him he can trust you and then prove it! He loves you and wants what's best for you.
