The population is so diverse (which is great) and yet so untollerant (not so great) that people get offended by someone wishing them a happy anything. It seems as though being curtious to people has turned into a rare thing sometimes. Fortunatly there are still some people who still hold doors, say their pleases and thank yous, make eye contact, and wish people good days; hopefully it will chatch on agian. But in the mean time ... Merry Christmas and Happy new year.

I find that it's difficult b/c I have so many friends and acquaintances that do not celebrate Christmas. I don't want to offend anyone especially someone I don't know. It's a social taboo b/c it's politically incorrect. A more to the point question would be "Why has Christmas and it's customs become politically incorrect in America?" I really don't know the answer to that...

Merry Christmas to you!
I think people just get caught up in the bustle and are a little shell-shocked. I will always return a seasonal greeting :)

i do, nothing wrong with wishing a merry christmas, they prolly just so busy that they cant say nothin back to you. at least tho you give people enough thought to wish them merry christmas. if they dont want a merry christmas, they dont have to accept your invitation.

Not wrong, it has just become politically incorrect to do so. I mean, after all, I might OFFEND somebody by wishing them a festive season. Sheesh.
Merry Christmas. Happy Hannukah. Happy Kwanzaa. Whatever your particular religious (or lack thereof) affiliation, I hope you have a wonderful festive time during this winter solstice period.
Oh, . . . and a Happy New Year, too. 8^)
