love to me means commitment for a life time to the man i married 38 years ago.Staying together no matter what happens.Thru sickness and pain ,near poverty since i've had to quit work to care for him.A man who has been thru cancer,living with Parkinson disease an now 7 stints in his heart.But don't feel sorry for us we're together and he is still my best friend.

Love to me means caring so much about another person, that their feelings are just as important (if not more at times) than your own. It means wanting them to be happy, with or without you in their life. It means putting your heart on the line and opening up, trusting, another human being with yourself in every sense of the word. It means the fusion of two lives into one you spend together. It means arguing..never fighting. That's the best I can do.

Love is an overused term for what is supposed to be a deep and trusting committed relationship. Of course, saying, "Ohmigod I have a deep and trusting committed relationship with cheesecake!" or "Oh, I totally have a deep and trusting committed relationship with your dress -- where did you get it?" sounds patently silly, therefore I argue we have neutered the word.
Since we neutered the word, that means all the young girls getting pregnant by boyfriends in the Pregnancy Advice topic section are living on passion and naming it love. And getting dumped onto the dole with a baby while their child's co-creator wanders off to say, "I love you" to get some other girl's underpants onto the floor.
Sorry I'm a cynic. Love isn't a bad thing; what we mislabel as love is.

I can't put it into words. There are many different kinds of love. There's a love that I have for my daughters; there's the love I have for other members of my family; there's the love I have for my friends. I can't forget about that special love I have for Keanu Reeves, though. :-)

it means wanting to spend every minute with that person...being able to just watch her\him and be in awe...looking forward to going to sleep and waking up next to that person and only that person for ever....being able to handle their family on holidays...and when you hold onto them or kiss them you dont want it to end....thats how i still feel about my wife after 8 years thats what love feels like to me and what it means to me
