Xboxes have been known to sometimes scratch disks, and if they overheat they will not work. Keep your xbox well ventilated.

you need to make sure you keep your x-box well ventilated. Ge like a little vacuum for electronics devices(you can find 'em at office max, circuit city etc. etc) and run it over the ventilation slots cause if there is a TON of dust built up it'll let that dust into the system therefore taking that chance of scratching your games all up
