As I was 21 in 1960 . We wore similar clothes to our dads and later on we started being different ,with slim Jim ties , drainpipe trousers and narrow lapel suits. Towards the 70s we started getting into flower power and colourful shirts. Flares came in the 70s.

The television series in the 60's that reminds me of the men's dress was Bewitched. Take a look at the website and the way the men dressed.

suits were all the fashion. i was born in 54, but what i can remember about the sixties. guys liked to looked smart, all suited up for a night out. greased back hair, short back and sides with a quiff in the front, then the Beatles came along. the hair grew, but the suits remained,, love to see a man all dressed up.but then again, along came the hippies/flower power bell bottoms flowered shirts/ rolling stones and bob Dylan. so i guess your right . it was cloths
