Just like everyone is saying, PRACTICE.
But even practice gets so you so far. Sometimes, you just have to be born with the skills and the drive, but there are still many variables you can control.
You can work out and get yourself into good enough shape to fit your style of play and position.
The BEEF tip is very helpful. Even in the NBA level, there is always room for a "sharpshooter." Shooting is a very important part of basketball, duh! haha. Agian, shooting takes ALOT practice.
Knowledge is also very important. You need to know what is going on. This is a little tougher now'a days since basketball is so street ball influenced. Learn how to play the right way. Fundementals, defense and creating easy shots. Watch video of older players that played basketball the right way. If you can get your hands on John Stockton footage, that'd be perfect. Or else pay attention to the Tim Duncans and Kevin Garnetts. Even the Elton Brands who play fundemental basketball.

This Practice Schedule that I have made isn't what you ought to do, and even what you're going to do. It's only a guiding principle. It has many matters that you just will have to train to be able to end up a well basketball participant. First off, I wish to let you know to be very optimistic. Basketball is a quite amusing game, and I adore it. The factor is, you quite ought to adore it, and also you quite ought to train plenty to be victorious within the recreation. Interpret the time table as you favor. a million. Warm-ups (10 mins or much less): - Stretching - Loosening up, so you do not get injured as effortlessly - Do a form of stretches - Arm stretches, leg stretches.... two. Running (five mins or much less): - Quick jog - Don't run too difficult - This may be for loosening up three. Dribbling: - Dribble along with your finger pads, now not fingers - Don't dribble too top, as much as the waist is ultimate - Don't have the ball be too a long way clear of you - Always LOOK UP whilst you dribble - Do a few dribbling drills (Run even as dribbling even as maintaining your head up) - four. Passing: - Again, should not have your fingers at the ball whilst you move - Take a step ahead along with your more potent foot (proper if you are a righty, left if a leftie) and move - Practice all the extraordinary passes (soar move, chest move) - Bounce move: Make certain the ball hits the ground two/three among you and the opposite man or woman, and that the ball lands on the different man or woman's waist or above - Chest move: Make certain that the ball is going to the man or woman's chest, now not too low and now not too top five. Shooting: - Make certain you're rectangular to the basket 6. Defense: Practice dribbling, passing, capturing, and protection plenty. Those are very most important. bear in mind to maintain in form!! Good success. Practice foul photographs like loopy. These are very most important.

Do what some others don't do....practice and master the fundamentals of basketball. For example, dribbling, passing, proper shooting form, proper mechanics. Learn the basics of basketball and do them over and over and over. Steve Nash has won the MVP 2x consecutively because he has mastered the art of passing and knowing where his team-mates are at just about all times. Steve Nash isn't the best scorer or even the best defender, but he has mastered the art of team-ball. The Phoenix Suns are a fun team to watch. So if you want to watch an NBA player play the game correctly watch Steve Nash. Don't worry about the flashy stuff. Two points is two points. Don't worry about showing-up your opponent, it's not good sportsmanship. But whenever you step on the court play solid basketball. Again practice the fundamentals of basketball. It's a lost skill.

remember "beef" when shooting.
B- balance- keep your strong foot in front of the other
E- eyes- keep your eyes on the rim
E- elbow- keep your elbow tucked in
F- followthrough- point your hand at the basket.
another tip is to always keep your head up when dribbling, so you can see anyone coming towards you.
AND PRACTICE!!!!!!!
:)
