1) Do u enjoy nursing ?
First of all I no longer do direct patient care. When I did I loved it. I could not do my current job if I had not been a direct patient care nurse.

2)wat inspired u to become a nurse?
I was at a crossroads in my life and I needed to make a change. I choose nursing because I could complete the degree in 2 years (an Associate Degree) and I knew I would have a job waiting for at the end of the 2 years.

3)wat line of nursing do you practice?
I have been a nurse a long time and over the years I have done the following:
Operating Room
Cardio-Vascular ICU
Oncology
Research Nurse
and now Clinical Trials Monitor

4) Did u find the training difficult ?
I did find the coursework diffcult but not impossible. It was a good challenge. The clinical training on the job which is very different than coursework I did not find diffcult. And I loved going through that training.

5) What is your day like normally ?
Again I do not do direct patient care. I work 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday. My day consist of reviewing data from patients who are on clinical trails for experimental cancer treatments. I verify that what has been reported matches the patient's record. If I find differences I contact the Research Nurse and get clarificaion.

6) Do u think its a hard job?
I think that the patient care is not a hard job. I do think that the inter personal skills required to work with doctors and other nurses can be hard for some people and that is the biggest reason people leave nursing.

7) are your shifts long and are u over worked?
Only when I worked as an ICU nurse.

8) What is the best part of your job ?
When I worked in patient care I loved the relationship I built with my patient. Now I love learning about the newest ways cancer patients are being treated and what the future will be like.

9) Is it easy to get into nursing ?
What made it hard to get into nursing was that the number of applicants was so much more than the spots available.

10) Do you think nursing is a good career?
Yes! there are very few careers in which you can move into a brand new area and not have to go back to school.

11) is there any advice you could give to someone who wants to be a nurse?
Be prepared to work long hours.

I'm from the USA.
