I have a 10 gallon tank with 4 Bettas in there seperated by dividers. So I was wondering what type of lighting should I put in my tank? How many watts? And do Bettas like Lighting?

get a 10 gallon fluorescent hood. Bettas are great jumpers and need the top to help keep them in place. Bettas like light just don't buy incandescent or you could over heat them. The wattage on a basic hood will be perfect

Bettas in nature often live in murky water with lots of plant cover so they don't need much light. Mine don't seem mind as long as it isn't too bright, or on too long. I've never used lighting for my boys tank as they don't have live plants. The girls live in my main tank, and get a lot of sunlight, and light from the hood. Neither group seems to mind.

Just a standard light will do fine bettas aren't really that picky about their lighting do not leave the light on for more than 9 hours per day.

what zoe said is completely correct, but I find mine prefer natural (but indirect) light. if you keep your tank in a spot where it gets light, but the sun doesn't shine in it it will be fine. as far as a top goes I use a window screen. my bettas seent o be more active and colorful since I used natural light. it's less maintenance and the natural light cycle I think is better for them.

but again, zoe's answer is perfectly right too. just don't leave the light on all the time.

If you have live plants, you'll need a fluorescent bulb. Otherwise, whatever goes in your hood is fine. It is an incandescent fixture, there will be two holes on either (or in the middle) to screw bulbs into. If it a fluorescent fixture, there will a slot at either end.
Whichever you require, you can find it at your local pet store, or even walmart.
