I'm 24 years old and have 1 daughter that will be 3 on Dec. 23. I conceived last Dec. but miscarried @ 8 wks.(the fetus stopped dev. and reabsorbed) in Jan. I had a d&c done and was told I could start trying in April, so I did. I've been having my period every month but now I'm 3 weeks late. I've taken about 4 preg. tests in those 3 wks. and they all say neg. Has anyone had a similar situation? If so, did you go to dr. for preg. test and what happened? I'm not stressed nor have I been doing anything differently to throw my period off by any means- other than trying to conceive. any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

The tests I took were home preg. (urine) tests. I don't have insurance to cover going to dr. and they said it would cost $200. for one-i thought that was high.

I had a nurse tell me once that most home tests are just about as accurate as the tests that they do at the doctors office because of all the technology and stuff. It can still depend on the kind of test. Try asking a nurse at the doctors office if they recommend a specific test and there are web sites that rate tests. Also, if you are under a lot of stress that could cause you to be late. I was about 4 weeks late and went to the doctor and had blood tests and they came out with the same neg as the home ones.
Good Luck...I know it is stressful!

i haven't gotten my period in 4 months and have taken many preg. tests...i made a doctors appointment to see if something else is wrong. i would wait a few more weeks and then if you don't get it, go to the doctors. you could still be pregnant if your body doesn't produce the hormone that shows up on a urin test...ask the doctor to take a blood test.

When I was pregnant with my first child, I knew I was pregnant, because I didn't get a period for over two months, but in that time, I took over 8 pregnancy tests, each of them came out negative. I was almost three months pregnant by the time 1 of them came out positive. So this does happen. It just depends on the pregnancy and how much of the hormone your body produces. For your sake, I hope you are, and good luck.

When I was pregnant with my son the doctors office did two tests when I was about 4 weeks along and they were both negative. After another 3 weeks and no period I went back, they did another test and it was positive. Crazy.

When I was pregnant with my son, I did about a million tests, and only 1 came back posative. Even the one at the docs were neg.
In my opionon, go to the doctors, go to the doctors and get a blood test!

you should definitely go to the Doctor and get checked out and tested. on the off chance that something else is going on you want to catch things early. depending on how high the hormone levels are in your body you could be pregnant and the tests might not show it.

This happened to me both times I was pregnant. I had to go to the doctor and get blood test to confirm I was pregnant.

Good luck!

i'd call the wellbeing care specialist or health facility, and make an appointment to get a blood try, they are going to examine your blood for being pregnant it is definetely gauranteed to educate if you're pregnant or no longer. Congrats if you're pregnant!!

I would go to the Dr and get blood work. If your defiantly not preggo then I would ask for something to make your period come.
