I had exactly the same effects when I had my flu jab a month ago. Not sure about the chills, best to consult your doctor on that one...;

It's possible you already had the flu in your system. The vaccine itself needs about 2 weeks to take hold.
People need much better education on the flu shot, effects, what happens when one gets the shot and what can happen if you don't and what the ramifications of if a pandemic (such as bird flu) should occur since there is not a huge demand for the shot in the U.S., it is not manufactured in the U.S., therefore should there be a huge bird flu pandemic people in the U.S. would be screwed since we didn't create demand bringing manufacturing back over here and no guarantee European countries would ship us any.
For years I was adamant about not getting the flu shot, stupidly thinking the shot itself would make me sick. This year was my first time.

The flu shot does give a lot of people the flu and makes them very ill. I refuse to get a flu shot. Everyone I know who gets them always gets the flu every year. I have only had the flu once in my lifetime and I have never had the flu shot.

No, that happened to me when I got my shot/ sometimes it takes a couple of days. It will go away. In the meantime, it's a pain in the ***. You may just be more sensitive to the shot like myself.

No youre having a big allergic reaction to it. I suggest using some anti itch cream or Calamine Lotion. If you feel worse after 2 hours call your Primary care doctor.

That can be another side effect also. It should be a mild case, and go away in a day.
