Well you need to do the following to successfully get rid of the problem, please read carefully.

First of all, run an online virus scan from Kaspersky, follow this link.
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Click yes if you recieve any Active X or Installation windows.
Let the program update if you have an active software firewall.
Run the program, which usually takes 45min on an average computer.

Download and run Adaware SE free personal edition from download.com
Run the update procedure and run a FULL System scan, not a quick scan.
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1

Download and run Counterspy from download.com.
Run the update procedure, run a FULL System scan, not a quick scan.
http://www.download.com/CounterSpy/3000-8022_4-10566366.html
Un-install this program when you are done with it, or keep it for 15 days.

Download and run SmitFraudRemover, this should be done in safe mode, which I will explain to you in just a second.
This program runs in the system registry to find hidden expliot programs, and will delete them.

Save this file to your desktop.

To boot windows xp in safe mode, please do the following.
Do not insert the quotations
Click on Start > Run > type in "msconfig" and click ok > Click on the "boot.ini" tab >Then check the "/safeboot" box > Click on "OK"
Click "restart now".

Running these programs in these orders will get rid of any malware/adware/trojans and viruses on your pc.

Goodluck
