Unfortunately a lot of people do don't they misquote, in the mistaken belief they know more than you. In the end of the day you listen to your heart not someone else even if they wear a dog collar.

No I'm not an atheist just don't really think that religions have anything to do with true spirituality.

ONLY if it were directed by someone of clergy that I truly trusted. Not just anyone can tell you what God wants you to do and depending on what it was, I might have to question that even if someone of the clergy said it. Most truly christian people won't tell you what God wants you to do other than accept Jesus Christ and beleive in God. They've always left that up to me and God.

Just because someone "said" God wants you to do it, doesn't mean he does.
If it's not actually in the bible, then no person on earth can say it's God's will.
