I'm often very aware of what someone is feeling emotionally. I know that by body language you can nomally tell if someone is distressed, especially if you are close to them emotionally. But I experience this with everyone. I can tell if they are stressed, mad, depressed, happy...a range of emotion. I can also sense why it is they are feeling that way. I myself feel what they are feeling at times, and it seems to be more prevelant with the stronger emotions, like anger, sadness, and depression. I also have dreams about events and they will come true, although not always the very next day. Most of the time they seem to be everyday actions I'm performing, like cooking a meal or talking to someone. Then a few weeks later I'll be doing that exact thing. What I'm wondering is how I can hone my abilities and use them to help people.

I'd also like to talk with someone who relates to this...I always feel out of the loop and can never talk about it because everyone looks at me like I'm crazy.

You're not crazy. My husband does it to me all the time. He finally confided in me one time that he participated in a program in college to hone it, but he was very reluctant to talk about it, and I think it was sponsored by the government. Anyway, he knows things he shouldn't. One time we were playing canasta, when you have to have two matching cards to pick up the pile. Nine times in a row he held up two cards, said "Give me what I want," and nine times in a row I did, sometimes just by pulling the top card off of the stack! He always knows if something major has happened to me or his mother. I had a wreck once and he knew he had to get home as soon as possible so he could find out about me, even though I was on the other side of Indianapolis! He's told me he can't control it, or he'd have won the lottery by now.

that is called intuition. I know what you mean. As for the empathy, I recently I have been having a sort of similar situation - when someone is distressed, I feel their pain as if it had happened to me. When someone is nervous, I start trembling with increased heart rate and trouble breathing, when I see someone who is physically sick, (even if they dont communicate this to me ), I will start to feel like them if I pay too much attention to them. I'm a hopeless empathetic!
I noticed that oftentimes when I have been looking for something, I sort of have an idea of where to find it even when I shouldn't. LIke my father was at the mall, had no idea whree he was, something told me... sears sears, hes at sears! then sure enough, I found him at sears, he told me he had bene wanting to see me there.
I can often guess when things will hapen, when peopel will forget somethign important and I msut remind them, I can predict the weather more often then not and of course I dont watch it on the news.
These abilities are recent for me, I never could before. I think anyone could if they put enough concentration into it.
As for using your abilities to help others, I woudl consider Psychology with chinese medicine ( energy work) as an adjunct!
