It seems like it's just a bunch of really long personal ads for people that are really self involved. Why would I care enough to sit around and read about people's favorite color, coctail etc?? Am I missing something?

Myspace is what I consider a cross between facebook and match.com. Its a cheap way to meet people.

FACEBOOK on the other hand in my opinion is a much better network. They have real details, real information. Its very easy, clean, and organized. I find it very simple to find friends, family, classmates etc. And their privacy settings are very easy too!

People just like myspace because its free. If you had to pay for myspace, it would be gone.

i like it. but i just use mine as an easy way to keep in contact with people i already know. ya know like make plans tell everybody your havin a party at once instead of calling a million people. or give everyone the heads up on what clubs are jumpin that night. other than that it is kinda lame if you sit there and try to talk to people that you never in your life will really meet

I agree with you, many people are addicted to it and it's scary. I know one guy who stays on it for hours and hours, waiting for someone to comment him back. Don't they ever wonder to pick up the phone and call that person. Their myspace page is cleaner and prettier than their room. It drives me nuts when people come to my house so they could spend hours on myspace on my computer. If they go on it once every two days for about 20 minutes, it's ok. But for hours, it's ridiculous. It's so easy for a 11 year old to create a myspace and it is wrong!!! I have heard about it and seen it.

Count me in to boycott myspace!

It depends on what you utilize it for.

I only hop onto Myspace to keep in contact with old school chums and/or relatives out of town. That in conjection with instant messenger keeps us going.

But as far as being an avenue for entertainment then YES Myspace is rather dull. Add to the fact its littered with rear-end pics and people obsessed with uping their friends list amount...it's just stale.

you're not missing anything. myspace is just another chat-em-up website that just-so-happened to get really popular. if you aren't the type to keep up with the latest "cool stuff", then don't fret. it'll (hopefully) go back to being a website for unknown bands trying to get their names out there, and stuff like that. it's quite lame, and so is that ANNOYING question you're asked now when you meet someone: "Are you on MySpace?" UGHHH!!!

myspace is ABSOLUETLY lame. its wicked unsafe, and its just plain boring to pimp ur site out and try to prove nothing with urself, when everyone else is doing it.
