Here in Ohio, U.S.A., the Emerald Ash Borer has begun to devastate Ash trees in certain counties and driven the value of Ash trees to virtually zero. Here there are quarantines in place and the state will not allow you to take wood of ANY type from these trees into another county or state. I'm not sure about about Canada.

Contact a forester consultant in your area, they will come out and evaluate your trees, be able to give you an approx value, market and then arrange a timber harvester to harvest your trees.

Good Luck!!

Look for a local company that sells supplies to custom wood workers. There are small trailerable saw mills that folks buy because they are into woods and saving them for fine wood working.

They tend to go for the most exotic woods in the locale because there is always more trees than they can possibly cut up. Black walnut would be high on that list, but I would guess ash would be towards the middle.

All you could do is contact the retailers I mentioned. Those who have such portable mills would keep in touch with them.

You can look in the phone book, but you probably will have hard time getting anyone to come out and take down 6 trees. You also probably wont make much off of them because most of the profit will go into their expenses.

I would NEVER cut my trees. (60 acres) Why would you even consider such a thing? Dimensional lumber from a lumber yard is much easier to work with.
