I think that the Savings Bond is a good idea. I also like the idea that some people go get the newspaper for that day and have it put in one of those frame/box type things. It is a pretty neat thing to keep, because they can go back later on and see what was going on in the world the day they were born.

Savings bonds sound good, or books. I give books because it is something they will use for a long time. My mom still has all the childrens books we had as kids. The parents will enjoy reading the books to the baby and then the child will grow up and read the stories to the parents. Maybe go with a savingsbond and a book. So she gets something today and has something for the future.

The best gift would be a Breakfast out with you, a walk in the park, So she can have someone to talk to when no one else will listen to her. It doesn't cost a lot of money. but believe me it will be the best present she could get, and it might not be bad for you either. Kids who have it all, Really don't. The things they want most is someone to care and let them no they care, listen to them, tell the things they can't really tell mom and dad about so . Maybe being a best friend would be a Great Gift. IHOP is so different if you enjoy it with a friend. or even I zzys Good luck
Merry Christmas!

I have a niece just like this. I bought her a charm bracelet for xmas. I got to personalize it with her initial and "#1 niece". Here's the site I used. It was inexpensive, which I think is better because she can wear it whenever (not just for special occasions). I bought extras to give her for other presents (first communion, easter, valentine's day, etc.) A jeweler can easily attach for very little money. Congrats - nieces are so much fun!

Setting up an account for her is a great idea. If she has everything anyway, then at each birthday or X-mas you could contribute a little more... maybe an education fund. Let other family members in on it too.
At least you know your money would be going to a great cause... not some thing she won't even remember!!

Put together a photo album with pictures of you and her when she's born. Leave lots of empty space so you can add pictures of just the two of you throughout her life. You could even get the front engraved.
