Before!!! You want the mother to be to be prepared and ready for her new little bundle of joy!
Take some nice confetti in the shape of baby bottles, pacifiers, etc and spread it all over the tables...Balloons are a great decor idea and add great colour to the room all around..Games that we played at my baby shower (which was awesome) were "pin the baby on the mommy" this is where you can draw a woman on a piece of paper with a large tummy..cut out a baby out of a magazine and blindfold players as they try to get it as close to the tummy as possible..Another good one was "baby jumble" using baby words scramble them up and make your guests try to guess what the scrambled words spell the fastest.."brown paper bag" put various items in brown paper bags such as a soother, nose plunger, nail clippers, ect and have all the guests try to identify these items correctly..You can give away small prizes so all your guests will remember your shower. You can also have a 50/50 calendar draw that your guests can guess the correct due date and enter to win half the earnings..the other half would go to baby's piggy bank.. Good luck and I wish you ALOT of fun :)

I usually throw the baby showers before the baby is born. I have done it no more than 8 weeks before the due date. Some of the things that I have done at baby showers are the following:

Get some string and have everyone guess how much string will go around the mommies belly. Whoever is the closest to it wins a little prize. It is so fun, because you wouldn't believe how much string some people will pull! HAHAHA.

I have also bought these little diapers at Party City. They have little poop in them (not real poop of course), and whoever has that under their seat wins a prize.

There are a lot of good ideas on the internet, but I think that is about all I have done. I try not to do too many games.

Definately before.

You should try to have it before the 9th month. When I was pregnant with my son, I asked that my showers be done by mid to end of September. I was due at the end of October and I wanted to have everything ready for the baby about 1 month before I was due, just in case I went into early labor. As was put on bedrest at the end of my pregnancy and had my baby a week early.

I was at a shower once that froze tiny plastic babies in ice (1 per cube) and the first one who's ice completely melted and had the baby "born" won. I'd definately be sure to set the ground rule that you can't suck the cube, it has to melt naturally...we had a young girl at the shower who decided not to wait and ended up winning...wasn't real fair, but no one said anything becuase she was like 8.

You can also play word scramble, baby bingo.

You can find some fun Ideas by searching online.

The best bet is to talk to the mommy to be. my baby shower was about 2 weeks before my little guy was born. It was great but by the time is was over i just wanted to go to bed, some mommies to be are very self concious and by the time it gets to time for a shower feel very very big and may not want to be messed with . another option could be to have a meet the baby shower when the baby is about 3 or 4 weeks old.

Before. The mother isn't as tired and doesn't have to worry about the baby. You want her to really enjoy herself, so maybe around 7 months pregnant is a good time.

My favorite is the diaper game - melt different fun size candy bars in a variety of diapers. Then the people have to pass the diapers around, sniff them and even taste the goo and guess which candy is in which diaper. It's hilarious!

You generally throw it at about 7 or eight months. This gives the mother time to receive gifts..and decide what she still needs doesn't need. And give her a chance to relax for one day.

I have a site for you it's called baby-shower.com and it has games and the whole nine all dedicated to baby showers.

YOU SHOULD THROW A BABY SHOWER BEFORE THE BABY IS BORN SO WHEN THE BABY IS BORN YOU ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED
