Start --> Run --> CMD

In Command Prompt:

ipconfig /release (Releases IP address.. May need ipconfig /release_all)
ipconfig /renew (Renews IP address.. May need ipconfig /renew_all)
ping hostname (Replace hostname with the hostname or IP address)

Or for release/renew you could just go to your LAN Status window, click on the support tab, then click on "Repair".

Go to Start-->Run and type cmd and click OK
Type the following:

To Release an IP:
ipconfig /release

To Renew an IP:
ipconfig /renew

To ping:
ping [name or ip]

open the command prompt through START>ALL PROGRAMS> ACCESSORIES>COMMAND PROMT

Type ipconfig/release
then type ipconfig/renew
then type ping
