I would go with a PC. PC's are what she is used to, and although aren't as "user friendly", will support all of the activites she wishes to use it for. There are MANY game that are not compatible with Macs, and many programs that are used by many people are only available on PC's.

Hello Frito fiend,

I recommend you getting a Macintosh for your daughter. Most schools use Macs, so it would be great with homework. Macs network well with your other computers. They have some great Internet programs and games, as well as iTunes and IM.

The important part is, not one computer virus has ever been released in the past 6 years of the Mac OS X. Can you say that for your Windows boxes? After you use it, you might be wanting to monopolize it too. :-)

Best of luck to you.

Get her what she's used to, if you already use a PC she should stick with that.
