I don't know if this would work with ps2 games but I used to fix scratched cds by smearing a small amount of toothpaste over the area. it has to be a really small amount (white kind, not gel!!) and you have to keep wiping until you can't see it anymore. it fills out the scratch so the laser glides over it rather than skipping or stopping.

The best thing to do is get some disc repair/cleaner. I would also recommend looking into getting a machine that does the work for you. MadCatz has one that works fairly well. If you don't have the extra cash to spend, though, you could try running a thin stream of lukewarm water over the scratched side of your disc and wiping it try with some bathroom tissue. If that doesn't work, another home remedy for the unlucky gamer is to get some generic rubbing alcohol (if you don't have any, check the health/beauty aisle at your local supermarket) and clean your disc with it using a Q-tip or cotton swab. Don't press too hard, and dry it using a really soft cloth or some bathroom tissue. The latter two methods usually work for me and are really handy for skippy DVDs, too!

There are additionally machines that sparkling discs for you, yet whilst the scratch is deep, there is not any assisting it. this is advisable to observe that your PS2 lens for analyzing the disc would be smudged, scratched or have airborne dirt and mud on it. this is advisable to objective puffing some air into the console mutually as the disc tray is open.

Little hope.
But I once wrote to the distributor (address on the pamphlets) and they sent me another disc.
Which was nice of them.

Yeah, you can call the distributor, get cleaning stuff for cd's, or get a new game.
