I know that a lot of people HATE getting copy/pasted answers, but I'm going to give you some because I think that they explain it a lot better than I can. Basically, since Mercury is the planet of communication, Venus is the planet of love, and Pluto is the planet of regeneration and transformation, you tend to love and communicate like a Scorpio (Venus in Scorpio should be an interesting placement, since Scorpio is the most sexual sign in the zodiac). That's the most basic part of it. I should mention that Pluto is a really happy planet in Scorpio, since Pluto is the planetary ruler of Scorpio. Planets that are in the signs they rule are always happier :) I should mention that since Pluto is a slow moving planet (literally takes like, 20 years to change signs) that it's more important what house it is in than what sign it is in. Pluto in Scorpio spans a generation so it's really general when it's interpreted.
Here are two sets of interpretations, one is from Bob Marks Astrology and the other is from Astrology-Numerology. Again, I'm sorry if you really hate copy/pasted responses, but I can't explain it like these people can, and they give different twists on it so I think it's better this way :)
Bob Marks Astrology:
Mercury in Scorpio: gives a subtle mind that is always looking for secrets or something hidden. This is a great position for a detective or therapist. Mercury in Scorpio is also great for finding weaknesses in opponents --- or anyone else, for that matter. And talk about a sharp tongue! The have an instinct for saying the one thing to shake anyone else up. Even if they don’t say it, they are thinking it. Not a bad placement for a writer of murder mysteries.
Venus in Scorpio: Venus is what makes us happy. Scorpio is sex, obsessions, and obsessions with sex. Relationships are seldom light and breezy with this placement of Venus. If you have this one, you can love partners or hate them, but it is always with passion. Nothing half-hearted here. Scorpio is the sign of the "underworld" and those with this Venus, at some point in their lives, will be attracted to pleasures or people that society considers illicit or downright illegal. Ironically, they can come out of it renewed, like the mythical Phoenix, rising out of its own ashes. That is, if they are lucky.
Pluto in Scorpio: happened from 1984 to 1995. This generation will be obsessed with all things sexual (who isn’t, but they will be even more so). Even more, however, they will be the generation to bring about a biological revolution, including human cloning.

Scorpio
In Scorpio, Mercury produces a mind that is secretive, investigative, and probing. Your method of expression is positive, and maybe a little intolerant, skeptical, and suspicious. A deep and penetrating thinker, you can dig in to the core of any issue with little wasted time or effort. You intuitive mind is capable of profound insights.
You are very good at keeping secrets. Plans and schemes are often carried on in secret. You are also very good at digging out secrets and getting to the bottom of complex issues. Thus, with this placement you may have the skills to become a detective, an investigator, or a researcher. There is much scientific ability with Mercury in Scorpio because of the innate curiosity. You are so perceptive that you "know" the unseen weaknesses and strengths of people with whom you come in contact. You have a way of seeking hidden truths and perhaps the hidden secrets of life itself.
You can be very incisive with your tongue or with your pen. Often using sharp language, you refuse to mince words or show much concern for the feelings of others. You either say exactly what you are thinking or you remain completely silent.
You can be very stubborn in your mental determination and tenacity. Your adaptability is limited in an intellectual sense because your highly emotional approach often has you prejudiced and focused on a set objective.
Scorpio
If Venus is in Scorpio in your chart it no doubt produces a very intense romantic nature. In relationships, you are very straightforward, determined, and direct. You often express excesses of feelings, being very possessive and sometimes jealous.
Scorpio is the sign of physical magnetism. It is the sign of the zodiac that is said to "rule" sex. Born with Venus in Scorpio, you are no doubt a very sexy person. You approach the emotional experience of romance with much intensity and much feeling. In this area of your life, you are an extremist. Your love nature is based on total commitment and complete focus. With you there is no fooling around. You dominate and demand total involvement. Nothing short of this is acceptable.
No matter what happens to you, your dignity is something that is never lost or put aside. The intensity of emotions resulting in this placement make it clear that matters of the heart are taken seriously and personally. You display your strong sense of personal pride and emotional dignity in all that you do.
Because your love desire is so overwhelming, you sometimes become very possessive of your partner. This can be both in a physical as well as a psychological sense. You may express this in minor ways, but in some way or another you tend to control and hold on to the
I hope this helped you. Again, I apologize if you don't like copy/paste but I really can't explain it like they can. Best of luck!

Ok, now for a serious answer.
Scorpio is a sign that can make one more introverted, intuitive, curious, suspicious, jealous, drawn to things hidden, sexual, interest in science/medicine, motivated, mysterious, vengeful.
Mercury represents how you communicate, so you may be more introverted rather than out-going. Venus represents your love life, and therefore the sexual side of relationship is going to be more focused. I don't really recall the what Pluto represents and unfortunately having a hard time finding more info on the web.
A good resource (book) I recommend if you're genuinely interested in Astrology is called "The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need" and you can get it at Barnes and Noble.

G'day Nimrod,
Thank you for your question.
We would need to know your star sign to give firm advice. If you are a Scorpio it will have a different effect then if you are in an opposing sign.
Now that I know you are a Libran, I can tell you more. Mercury in Scorpio means that you should be sharp and quickwitted as Mercury is said to have influence on the mind. Venus in Scorpio means that you could have intense feelings of love. Pluto is Scorpio's ruler. It means that you should have strong feelings both of spirituality and sensuality.
Seasons greetings

Here's the recipe: (1) Take a planet's needs: Sun = need to express your individuality Moon = need for emotional security Mars = need to pursue your desires (encompasses taking action, reactions when frustrated/blocked) Pluto = need to exert will power (either on oneself, or on others, which becomes manipulation) (2) Look at the sign that planet it in (the need will be expressed in the nature of the sign) (3) Look at the aspect between two planets: - Square = inner tension because the nature of the two signs is not compatible, but this tension can be relieved by taking constructive action - Opposition = a see-sawing back and forth between two needs OR being stalemated in the middle and not pursuing either - Conjunction = the two needs function together, as if they are harnessed and pulling in unity Note that charts without squares and oppositions indicate people who never put effort into life and never achieve anything. Some of them are lucky just to barely support themselves. (4) Look at the houses that the two planets fall in ... this shows you what areas of the life are most effected by this aspect. YOUR QUESTION: How do all these hard aspects affect the person? It impels them to do something ... either something constructive or something that screws up their life. Depends on how they choose to handle it. Once they understand their own inner dynamics, they can make choices on how to respond to the energy of their planets ... they can arrive at this understanding on their own or with the use of astrology, either works.

It doesn't affect your personality in any way, shape or form.
The positions of stars and/or planets have nothing to do with anybody's personality. That's been proven literally thousands of time. Astrology does no better than flipping a coin (and often worse) in "predicting" how anyone behaves, what happens in their lives, or anything about their personality.
That people still believe thousands-years-old ancient superstitions that have been proven worthless countless times in the 21st century amazes me. A mind is a terrible thing to waste...
