The Kidney bean is a large seed, even for an Angiosperm plant. It contains relatively large seed leaves (cotyledons). The bean growth is initially supported by the nutrients stored in the endosperm contained inside these cotyledons. This fact gets the bean plant off to a great start.

As soon as the endosperm materials starts to diminish, the plant has already set roots which are capable of absorbing additional nutrients. When the leaves reach the soil surface and can collect sunlight for photosynthesis, much of the plants energy goes into leaf production.

The vine itself is only added to in order to keep the leaves separated for more efficient sunlight gathering. You might find the following site interesting:

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
