Microwave / Oven
Burned Food:
When I bake food like croissants or biscuits, I put them in the middle of the oven. The top of the food gets black, the bottom is not finished. When I remove the food too early, it is not finished. When I remove it later, the food is burned. I tried to put the food lower, but the same problem happened. The bottom burned and the top was not finished. The oven does not bake correctly.
Beeping:
The microwave beeps 4 times when food is finished. If you don’t open the door immediately, beeping continues. I could only lower the sound but I can not turn it off. It is extremely irritating and annoying.
Injury Danger:
When I cleaned the oven, I cut my fingers because of sharp pieces. There was no warning in the user manual about injury danger.
Loose Handles:
The handles of the microwave and oven are loose. You can not just use a screw driver to tighten them. You have to disassemble the door.
Steam:
When I bake, the glass gets steamed. The problem is that I can not wipe of the steam because the steam is inside the glass.
Light Bulb:
After only a year and a half the light bulb for the microwave burned out too early. Since I knew that to replace a light bulb all I had to do was unscrew the bulb and replace it, I thought that this would be a very simple procedure. But I was wrong! To replace the simple light bulb I would have to call Whirlpool Customer Service to have the light bulb replaced. It sounds like unfair business practices or fraud. The light bulb and filter problem are not normal and it was not clear.
Filter:
The filter is dirty. I can not change it. There is fire danger because of fat and there is no warning in the user manual. It is unhealthy to cook food with an old filter. There was no information about the light bulb and filter in the user manual.
I have a 5 year warranty on all built in home appliances. I wrote Whirlpool an e-mail.
Do you have same or similar problems?

Oh my! That's quite a list you've got there. Well, I don't have those problems at all....any of them...now that I have a new oven. It sounds like either a bad model, or perhaps just a bad apple out of the bunch. I'd definitely get a new oven, there's just too many problems to fix. I replaced my oven a year ago when my previous one wasn't baking properly. I subscribed to Consumer Reports at the time and got a good model that suited my needs.
By the way, the reason why the top of your food is burning before the bottom of your food is done is because it's cooking hot, and because air in your oven doesn't circulate properly. In other words, if you're setting your oven to 350 degrees, then it's probably cooking at 400 degrees, or higher even. That, in combination with the poor air circulation is causing the uneven cooking.

Get a new oven, or have it recalibrated. Your baking issues are probably because the coils and heating power sources are severely out of whack. When you buy a new stove/oven look out for a self cleaning oven, they really work. Namebrands don't mean nearly as much today as they did 30 years ago, you can get a quality appliance from a brand you've never heard of and be just as well off if you'd have bought a Whirlpool, GE, or other brand.

There is a surefire way to cook biscuits and cookies everytime without burning the bottom. Buy a double thick aluminum pan made especially for this. Aluminum does not get nearly as hot as a traditional metal cooking sheet, therefore the biscuits come out perfect everytime.
Here is just one link from several at kitchencollection.com. Shop around for aluminum pans:

Oh yea same problems until I was lucky enough to get new stuff. I actually learned to bake a cake in a oven just like that and by the way it's your thermostat.

No...I don't know of anyone who has that many problems. Maybe you should get rid of appliances and go back to the old fashioned way of cooking over a fire!!

I gave up after the beeping category. No offense, but: are you kidding?? Ask Santa for a DIY book from Home Depot this year.

Time to buy a new convection oven that is made of better quality.
The ones that they have out there now are made much better and have gone down in price.
