I don't follow fashion trends to a T. It try to incorporate what is "in" and new with what I already have. People have to buy what is in stores, and that merchandise is based on what is in the fashion world right now. I mix things into my own style.

Because deep down, although people say they don't want to be the same as everybody else, they do. This is why whose who are actually different are ridiculed, and why when skinny jeans come fashion, everyone flocks to the shops to get some, even if it makes them look truly awful! It's a sad, sad thing.

That's a good question, but why are you asking? You may think that you don't follow trends, because that's what we'd like to think, but it's not so.
For Example:
In the show "South Park" there were a group of goths that said this,
"If you want to be a non-conformist all you have to do is look like us, dress like us, and listen to the same music."
It makes you think, are people who "aren't following the trend" just following a different trend?

They just want to go on with the flow. If everybody is doing it, why not? Well, you wouldn't want to look like a dork to the rest of the people. In my opinion people should all have their own sense of style and not follow other people. This subject has to do with peer pressure, your mind is pushing you to the side of the followers and your heart is pushing you to the side of the leaders.

I do my own thing. I have been all my life. Mainly because I could never afford to buy the "in" clothes so I would make do with what I had. Plus my talent with sewing comes in handy because now I make most of my own clothes so they're all original, to my taste and style, and individual shape.

People are followers, its easyer then being a leader. So you could be the next fashion director for some of them . God luck and Merry Christ mass.

I think it is because they are unsure about themselves...they see that it worked for someone else and they are afraid to try their own thing. I see this alot at my school. I have noticed that they just need some confidence and they see that someone else has confidence by being the way they are they crave that! Be your own person! Set the trends.
