Need to replace the auto-fill valve. Google it for your model. It's not hard to replace. The reason it fills even when you turn the water off is because there's still water in the hoses.

OK,you need to check a couple of things here,if you remove the back,on the bottom of the drum you will find a about a 2inch rubber pipe, remove this (some water will come out) look to see that its clear, there could easy be a sock in there, stopping machine from pumping out fully.Next check is the pump and drain hose, take the drain hose of the pump and with your finger feel for any obstructions in the pump,it dosent take much to stop the pump,ie a hair clip.I was going to say that it could be a dodgy solenoid valve staying open but the fact that you have turned of the valves and it still happened rules that out.It is most likely a blockage in that 2inch pipe.

The valve that lets the water into your machine when you wash clothes is dripping. So is your wall tap. They're dripping just like a dripping faucet does when it gets old and doesn't seal right. You'll have to change the washer valve and it would be a good idea to change the wall faucet at the same time.
I'm not sure how handy you are but it shouldn't be too hard. Or call Hotpoint and ask what a service call would cost.

It could be that the cold water pressure is so high that the filler valve can't cope, but turning off the blue tap should stop that.
The fact that it does it with the taps turned off, and it smells, suggests that there is something wrong with the drain hose and standpipe and the water is syphoning back in when the pump is off.

I think it waste hose need pull high so it will throw water out properly. Check the back of washing machine if the waste hose is on floor or low, put string round the hose and pull up see what happen if same problem. Call the repair. Good luck!

Hot Point is a low end line and unfortunately the warranty is only for 1 year.
Try running only the rinse/spin cycle on the smallest water level setting to flush the water until you get it fixed.

I could be that the ose cnnected to the outlet (usually under the sink) isn"t high enough. It should be curvred up rather than down.
You can make your mashine smell good by washing it through with vinegar (See How clean in your house tip book)
Hope this helps

THE PUMP DOESN'T PUMP THE WATER OFF COMPLETELY OR THE DRAIN PIPE IS BLOCKED AND THE WATER COMES BACK AFTER THE PUMP STOPS.TRY TO CLEAN THE FILTER AND CHECK THE DRAIN HOSE PIPE AND THE DRAIN ITSELF.
GOOD LUCK.
