if it is an account such as ebay or amazon then you can get them to send you a new password by saying you can't remember it. Then it will promt you for an email address that you registared with, and will send an email to your account.
If it is an email address such as a yahoo one then they have things in place incase you can't acess your acount such as asking for your dat of birth and a security question that you would have answered. go to the login page and it will have a link somewhere on that page that says 'forgotten password' or something to that effect.
If it is a website hosting company then they should have a similar protocol in place, best thing to do here is email them
If none of the above get in contact with the company and ask what they have in place for such events as a lost password.
And finally a note for the future, don't have your passwords as your girlfriend/boyfriends name, and never tell anyone your passwords as they are there to stop this sort of thing from happening. I guess you learnt the hard way, just make it a difficult to guess password that only you will remember and you'll be fine.

what account are you talking about? If it is online accounts like yahoo, etc. There isn't much you can do, but start over. Create new accounts with usernames and passwords that he would never be able to figure out. It is also a good idea to change your passwords frequently. Good luck.

I would write to yahoo or start up a new account and let everyone know what happened. Try sending something to the account to really make him mad...like sending yourself a message from someone talking good about you and the fun you had hanging out...teach a lesson. That is so not cool...

Ugh, I'd been in your shoes before except the guy didn't flat out say he still wasn't over his ex but he did gave me a big hint saying she were his 'true love' despite her cheating on him. It is frustrating to get in the middle of some mess that you weren't involved in the past. I understand you really care for this girl but to me she sounds selfish. She is keeping you around yet still crying over her ex boyfriend. In a situation like this, it is best for her to not be with anyone as she is confused and battling with her feelings at the moment. Maybe if you two met a few years later, it will be the right time to be together but unfortunately it is not. It is best for you to cut ties with her because you will not be happy anytime sooner as she can't let go. It isn't fair to you to be in a half *** relationship with someone whose heart isn't fully in it or with you. So please cut your ties from her or else you will get very hurt. There is a beautiful girl out there who has it together emotionally and is able to focus her attention all on you.

Start dating better people who don't do those sorts of things. ;-)
Why don't you contact the important providers and get them to reset the passwords? The less important ones like free accounts on message lists just delete and get a new username.

If you mean a bank account then call the bank and have them reset the passowrd for your online banking.
