I work with this guy who is gay. He's a decent guy. He mentioned something he liked the other day. I was thinking I could make it for him and give it to him as a Christmas gift. If I do this, does it make me gay?

The only thing that "makes" you gay is being gay. You aren't going to magically become gay because you gave someone a gift, went with them to a movie, had dinner with them. I'd even argue that you could have sex with him and not be gay so much as curious... but that's a discussion for another time!
Give him the gift. The fact that you care for him enough to consider it is reason enough not to let something silly get in the way of doing something incredibly nice for someone.

No that does no make you gay, it makes you a decent human being. If you are straight and are secure in your sexuality and you accept this gay guy for who he is then you may very well make a very good friend.

No !! People will talk, but if you are secure in your sexually, It kewl.. But make it known to him it a gift of friendship, so he doesn't get the wrong idea. Then It could get awkward.
