I will have to go with Capt. Jean-Luc Picard. I love Capt. Kirk, he was the original, so, much respect. But the Next Generation was on when I was a kid and in the summer my parents would let me stay up and watch it. Plus, I think the movies are better with the Next Generation cast.

I never cared for the original Star Trek with Captain Kirk, so it would have to be Jon Luke Picard. ( That's the only Star Trek that I ever watched)
