everything depends on you and the relation you have with your friends and your family, if you are a victim you must be aware that it also might come from your side, we generally do not accept ourselves and we are creating negative energy and we are trying to get rid of it so we use people around us giving them this negative energy which of course in not accepted by the others and comes back to us in form of violence.

There are shelters and victim's advocates groups that provide support for victims of domestic/family violence. Also, any incident must be reported to law enforcement - they will assist...

It's called a restraining order. You get one at your local courthouse. It can't really protect you, but if the person violates it you can have them arrested. Other than that, not much.
