Personally my and I friends love Queen!!! We all play in bands in the U.S. and we just love the big harmonies, catchy melodies and innovative style that queen brought when 'metal ruled the world'. You have an interesting observation...I work for a big corp. and a lot of the meat head 'jocks' that I work with started calling me gay or Freddie Mercury when they found out I was the singer of a band.

I was fortunate to have an education that was liberal-arts intensive, so I have developed an appreciation for all music and the many different walks of life that these musical geniuses come from. Your education systems emphasis on music and art is the reason that all the amazing bands with staying power come from the UK IMO. Great question, hope that helps.

P.S. My sister’s getting married in Yorkshire on Dec. 12th so I’ll be spending Christmas and New Years in England. I’ve never been and can’t wait!!!

Good question...let me say that I adore Queen also. They are my top pick if I had to choose...

I totally agree, the fact that Freddy was gay has nothing what so ever to do with the quality of music they put out. I think maybe the nay-sayers are uncomfortable with how flamboyant he was on stage. In my opinion, he was a magnificent frontman and had one of the greatest voices the music world will ever see.

WE MISS YOU FREDDY!!!
