once in a while i do give a dollar, but this day i didnt

and I work in downtown L.A. and I went to a Subway after work for dinner; I was sitting at a small table eating and there were a few people waiting for their sandwhich- no one else; this mid-aged 'homeless' guy came in the Subway, and, like a robot with a homing device on me, walked past everyone else and straight to me to ask to share some money; im eating- obvious i have some- sh*t!

your story?

There's a guy that stands on the same corner of the hospital my fiance works at and this guy literally walks into oncoming traffic waving his sign like a madman. I've seen him almost get hit several times.

Used to live in SF and this guy would always go into restaurants, walk around and say in a plaintive voice, "I'm hoooongry, I'm hooongry." I saw this same guy many times. This was in the early to mid eighties. I'll bet someone else remembers this guy. I also saw guys asking for money for a drink. Would usually give them something because they were honest.

Charity begins at home! For a change, you should have asked the guy to buy you a sandwich using his day's collection! And, now that you know this guy, never bother to give!
