Backmasking is a secret message revealed in a song when played backwards!! It is really clever!!

There is one that is very very weird but very clever... Queen - Another one bites the dust...

Play the chorus backwards and it reveals clearly the words: It's fun to smoke marajuana, i like to smoke marajauna!!

Of course, I don't want to say anything like that in my backmasking but I would like to sing a song to one of my friends who I would like to say a secret message too that no-one else knows.

And... I bet that through-out the millions of people who use Yahoo Answers..... i wont get a right answer!! But please prove me wrong people!!

If someone knows!! Come on spill the beans!! lol

Fanks!!

Led Zepplin's song has a really long one. You should check out this website: http://jeffmilner.com/backmasking.htm It might give you some ideas on what words or phrases backwards make realistic sounding phrases. Also notice that you really don't need the "s" sound to make the listener perceive they are hearing it.

I think it is a widely accepted opinion that the majority of these backmasked songs with hidden messages are in fact coincidence.
You can play any song backwards , and if played often enough, you start to hear things that arent there. Or more accurately, you start interpreting jumbled nonsense as real words.

There are however artists that have put in clever backwards tricks into their music. Korn had a song that played almost identically whether played forward or backwards, as did Kate Bush I think on a couple of songs.

There was also a method of recording phrases said backwards and then reversing them so they were said forwards. This trick was used on the David Lynch TV show, Twin Peaks.

I know for a fact that Led Zep pioneered an eerie sounding effect with backwards reverb, which was done by reversing a sample, then adding reverb, or echo and then correcting the play. This resulted in a spooky sounding pre echo.

It is a commonly believed UL that a number of rock bands in the 60's and 70's inserted anti government or devil worshipping phrases into their songs, and some bands, namely Queen were taken to court over it, but it was thrown out on the grounds that quite rightly these people were being ridiculous.

As to how you might go about making a backwards message, you wouldhave to think of a message that sounds backwards like another message you want people to hear forwards. To be honest its a lot of work for such a small amount of pleasure mate!
