No, you won't be able to hear the heartbeat that soon.
But you can visually "see" the beat on the monitor screen using transvaginal ultrasound waves and the tech can tell you how strong it is (how many beats per minute).
At least that was the case for me when I had mine done.
I didn't actually hear the heartbeat until my next appointment at around 12 weeks, using a doppler device.
My baby's heartrate at 7.5 weeks was 165 bpm.
I have read that if your ultrasound scan shows everything is normal at 7 or 8 weeks, and detects a fetal heartrate above 125 bpm, that your chances of miscarriage are very slim, like only 2 to 4 percent.

With my first we didn't actually hear the heartbeat until 13 weeks and with the second, not till 11 weeks. At 7 weeks, the fetal doppler probably won't pick up the sound of the heartbeat. But if you have an ultrasound, you will be able to see the heartbeat.
Best wishes and congratulations.

You will be able to see it on an ultrasound, but not hear it. Doctors use a doppler to hear the heartbeat anywhere from 10-12 weeks. I heard mine at a little over 10 weeks and I have rented one to have at home to listen every night, it has really given me peace of mine, nowing everyday my baby is doing fine. I am 16 weeks tomorrow :)

You should be able to see it but it's still to small to hear it. When you look at the screen you can see the hearbeat. 7 weeks is so early. I had my first scan at 12 weeks and still didn't hear the heartbeat just saw him waving at us. At 7 weeks there isn't even arms yet.

No, you will not be able to hear the baby's heart beat; But, since you are getting a scan done, you will be able to "see" the baby's heart pumpling on the screen.
From personal experience, I saw my baby's heart beating;
The first time i heard the baby's heart beat was around 12-13 weeks.

Maybe. maybe not. Depends on the skill of your OB/GYN and your weight and mostly the cooperation of the baby. Because I am overweight I didn't hear a heartbeat until about 13-15 weeks with any one of my pregnancies.

I am not sure... You may have to wait until you are about 12 weeks along to hear the heart beating. You can see it in ultrasound before that though.

I think you should just ask your doctor. I heard mine fairly early. I know it was way before I was 12-13 weeks. Good luck you have to let us know if you got to hear it. (and if you cried LOL)
