Not if it is related to your job performance. Your employer is completely within his/her rights to observe and document the facts of your job performance every minute of every day. They can also monitor your computer usage and read your e-mail, if you are using their computers.

Sorry, but if you are doing things on the job that you don't want your employer to see, you are the one who is in the wrong.

An employer has the right to expect that the employees have the best interests of the organization in mind during, and in some case even after, working hours. If your performance is below average, the employer may just be "counseling" you in order to help you improve. Such "counseling" sessions, including write-ups, are not considered harassment under any legal definition.

If you have a problem with the employer's actions, ask for a meeting to discuss the situation, in terms of how it is effecting you and your work. Ask for goals, a list of things that s/he feels you should be accomplishing. Ask for training, if there are aspects of your job you don't know or understand. Ask for a Job Description, listing obligations and responsibilities of the job. You, as an employee have the right to know the employers' specific expectations. As someone once said, "If you don't know the rules, you can't play the game".

It depends on why they are threatening you and what they are trying to accomplish.

They could defend themselves saying it's normal supervision.

Sounds like you need to find a new employer. Or you can stay and fight them.

If they are wrong, would you rather be right, or happy?

But if they are right, can you correct your errors and become a good employee again.

Don't wait to wake up one day and realize you've quit all the decent jobs you've ever had because of a disagreement.

I wouldn't see a problem as long as you were doing your work properly. However, continuously being threatened and constantly having your supervisor looking over your shoulder could ONLY have an adverse effect on your job performance!

Document everything and take it to HR!!!

Not if you have given cause. It also depends on how often it happens during the work day. Do you feel it is a hostile work environment? Consult an attorney.

Start looking for another job, today. They don't want you, you'll be fired soon anyway. Better to resign before they have the chance.
