I am going with my girl friends to cheesecake factory tonight for dinner, we all want to dress semi-formally, but we are not sure if that's the appropriate way to dress for cheesecake factory. We don't want to look stupid for dressing up too much, what should i do?

Go with your instincts.

Well I don't see a problem with being slightly over dressed. It's better than if you were going somewhere and dressed to casually. For the Cheesecake factory a simple skirt and nice shirt, or even just a plain pant suit would be just fine. . .It's not as though you'd be wearing cocktail dresses or anything, so don't worry about it.

Well, semi-formal attire would be ok for that place..that's how most people dress when they go there, since they have a really nice bar and whatnot. But there will also be people there who come dressed more casually. I like to dress-up a bit at times, so if you like what you're wearing, go for it! I'm sure it's nothing over the top, so you'll be fine! Have fun!

Didn't you already do this picture thingee? I seem to remember a previous post about you and your child having shots someplace. Cheesecake? Why not have beer too? And deep fried brownies? And a bag of all dressed chips? It's not like anybody will notice. It's the child you should care about. Eat everything before your son. At least HE'LL be healthy.

Dress up as much as you want. Sure, folks will stare at you but probably because y'all look so hot!!!!!

There is almost no such thing as being 'overdressed' unless it's a beach or pool!

Have fun and make it a major occasion. Life should be celebrated, even if it's just friends going out to dinner.

Think about this: You see a couple at a taco stand or in a dive greasy spoon restaurant on the highway and he's wearing a suit or even a tux and she's dressed to kill in a nice evening dress and heels and they are having the time of their lives. What do you think?

Romantic...Sexy.....where did they come from?....who are they?.... where are they going?............GO FOR IT!

Dress how you'd like, it's all up to you. Maybe you are celebrating an occasion - so if you feel like dressing up, that's your business! Don't worry about what anyone else thinks! The Cheesecake Factory has a very nice atmosphere, which sometimes makes you feel like you'd like to dress up a bit - it's personally one of my favorites & I like to go there with my husband on "dates" so I put a little extra effort into my appearance at those times. Hope you have a great time - they have great appetizers & the chocolate mousse cheescake, to die for!!

You don't have to get all fancy for Cheesecake factory! I've worked there and it's just casual dress. People come in all the time after shopping at the malls...and you don't dress fancy to go shopping at the malls....so they prolly have on a nice top....and usually jeans.

It's a fairly casual restaurant, but people go in all sorts of attire.

Don't hold back from dressing semi-formal, especially if it's a special occassion, and heck, that's what you want to do. Have fun!

It is a nicer restaurant but it isn't formal. Last time I went I wore a short dress with chunky espadrille sandals. Most people just wear jeans though. You can go either way and be fine, just don't look TO formal

semi-formal is good for that restaurant. Nothing over the top. Just a nice button up and slacks and an evening dress for the chicks.
