where i'm from its not legal for either one... that would be the U.S.

It is not really ok, but the reason is obvious historically or by nature that's why a farmer has many heifers and one bull. During mans early history it made a lot of sense since infant and female mortality rates were very high it would be advantageous for a man to impregnate as many females as possible just to increase the odds of passing his genes on. Another reason why female with many husbands don't work in nature. Let say you had a colony that had no people if you took one man and a hundred women you could theoretically have 200 people after a year, if you took 100 men and one women you would probably have 101 people after a year and the men would not know if that was their offspring.

Nobody but some members of a few fringe religions believe it's OK for a guy to have multiple wives. Wake up and smell the 21st century.

It stems from the idea of procreation. A man with mutliple wives can have many, many children, all with the same father. A woman, on the other hand, well, she can only have so many due the amount of time pregnancy takes. And if the woman has multiple husbands, there's no telling which husband is the father.

It is not OK for men to have multiple wives in all cultures..
In those where it is OK...
Women are almost considered property and have few if any rights.
Why ?
Because Men are bigger, stronger & more aggressive and CAN..

Not okay for a guy to have multiple wives. In Tibet women have multiple husbands.
I wish women could have multiple husbands. I would get a lot of them and make them all bring their paychecks to me.

Look at the laws on the books. Polygamy has been outlawed, even in Utah.

Because they don't allow gay marriages in the USA, so a woman can't have even one wife, let alone multiple ones. : )
