The babies will be about 10 or 11 days old when they open their eyes. You can hold them from day one! The more you hold them, the more used to people they will be and will be calm when held. They should be totally weened by 6 weeks. You can take them away from their mom at this time, but I wouldn't give them away to someone else until they are 8 weeks old. you will be able to tell their sex by 4-6 weeks, depending on their size & breed. They can breed by 6 months definitely, maybe earlier. As far as living together goes, you will have to be the judge of that. Every rabbit has a different personality. Just keep a close eye on them while they are together just in case they do fight!
Good luck!

Usually mine open their eyes about 10 days after they are born. I always check the babies over right after they are born to make sure that none of the babies have any birth defects, any dead babies, etc. So i'd say as long as the mom will let you see the litter handle them from birth but don't take them away for to long!!! I leave my kits with the mom until 6-8 weeks depending on the size of the kits and the size of the litter. Don't take them away any sooner than 6 weeks. As far as sexing goes it depends from breed to breed and how small the kit is, sometimes it take a few weeks before your able to tell. I breed mine at 6 months of age when they turn Sr age. Some breeds that are meat rabbits can't be bred until 8 months of age. I usually don't leave my bucks together past 8 weeks of age as most will fight. Hope this helps.

Opening eyes: 1-2 weeks old

Handling them: You can start handling them almost the second they are born. The mother won't abandon them due to you handling them.

Weaning: Weaning can be done anywhere from about 8-10 weeks old. Possibly as early as 6 weeks old. The rabbits need to be eating pellets on their own for about a week or two before you wean them.

Sexing: That can normally start to be done with some accuracy starting at about a month old or so. As they get older it gets easier and easier to tell.

Breeding: You can sometimes start breeding with a rabbit as early as 6 months old. With smaller breeds you can normally start sooner than with bigger breeds. Breeding too early with larger breeds is thought to sometimes stunt their growth. With larger breeds, most breeders wait till the rabbit is 8-10 months old or almost full size before breeding with them. I don't recommend waiting beyond 10 months for does. Especially don't wait beyond 12 months. Waiting too long before you breed a doe can cause fat to build up around the doe's ovaries. This can make the doe hard to breed and sometimes kill her right before she is due to have babies if she does happen to get pregnant through a disease caused ketosis. Ketosis is where the doe breaks down the fat first to use as energy. As the fat gets broken down it gets turned into a toxin that builds up to life threatening levels when they near having their litter.

Keeping two brothers together: When you wean the rabbits separate them all off individually. Keeping two rabbits together even if they are the same sex isn't wise. Two rabbits kept together can start chewing fur, biting off each others tails, biting each other, fighting, trying to breed each other, biting notches or holes in each other's ears, etc.

Congratulations. They should start opening their eyes between a week to ten days. Depending on how well the mother trusts you (and if you smell of something she is not familliar with, like you've just pumped gas, or you've been handling your cat or something) some mothers will allow you to handle the babies right away. Most of my Mums allow me to get into their nests and count the babies and to remove anything that she does not want or need left in the nest (like stillborn kits or extra placenta that she didn't eat). You really have to watch the mother's behavior because if she thinks you are doing something that she don't like with her new kits she will attack. (It's happened to me on several occasions when the mum was trying to care for a dead liter.) Thy should be weaned from 4 to 6 weeks, but if some of the babies look a little underfed, you can leave them in longer. No more than 3 months though. As for sexing them, it is hard, the males look like a o while the females look like a teardrop, and usually one looks like the other until testicles drop. as for breeding 6 to 8 months, I think. Rabbits usually like to be alone. I had a lovely pair of identical males from the same liter that I had raised by a bottle, a family friend adopted them and she kept them in the same pen until one killed the other, but I have seen people keep (neutered/spayed) male/female sets in the same pens with no trouble at all.

you should google it, actually. pets are live creatures, you shouldn't leave anything to chance. get all the info you can as soon as possible.

i once knew a mother rabbit who ate her offspring b/c the owner forgot to feed her! so make sure you give the mother lots of food and snacks to keep up her strength!

i got my rabbit when he was 5 weeks old. it's best to leave them w/ their mother until 6-7 weeks though, but they can easily be weaned at 4 weeks, but i wouldn't advise it.

2 males can be left together while still young. but not for too long. separate them after about 6 weeks, when they've been weaned.

i sexed my rabbit at 5 weeks. males are easy to sex, reach in under them, toward the tail and feel around for a little bump. it's really small, so feel around good, parting the fur if need-be. but males grow really quickly 'down there' so you will be able to tell by 6-7 weeks! if the surface feels flat by 8 weeks, it's a girl!

try not to feed them pellets till 5-6 weeks, when weaned. and don't give fresh fruit/veggies til around 4-6 months, the longer you wait the better. stick to timothy hay and dried alfalfa pellets; rabbits, most of them, have a sweet tooth. so don't feed fresh fruit or bread til way way later or they'll lose their taste for dry pellets. the timothy hay and dried alfalfa should be a staple diet.

enjoy, and good luck! (oh and congrats!)

i think they are about a month before they open their eyes.

we couldn't handle our rabbits until they stopped weaning. (i think that was 2 months maybe? i can't remember.) mom would not feed the ones we touched because they smelled funny.

the boys should be okay to live together we had all our rabbits together.
