New York City recently passed a law banning the use of transfats from food...they have given food makers 2 years to clean up and switch to another prioduct. Transfats have been proven to be a very dangerous, unhealthy food additive and many people support/applaud the governments decision to help make a healthy environment for its people, but there are some people (like this cartoonist) who think that government involvement in what people eat is going too far.

I say wonderful....it's obvious we have a health problem in this country and food makers can't be expected to do the right thing and not put these toxins in their products...they are extremely cheap, and they are in business to make a buck, no matter how badly they are damaging peoples health!

Serious question? The cartoon is about the NYC police shooting of a man on the eve of his wedding. Happened last week or so. Three guys going to their car, one cop thinks he sees a gun, opens up shouting he has a gun, other cops there open fire as well. All told they shoot 50 rounds into the car. There is alot of outrage since the guy didnt have a gun, nor did anyone else in the car. The cartoon is voicing that outrage with a reference to the fifty shots.

It's a statement about how people are trying to get rid of trans-fats. He is saying in a world without trans-fats tofu will replace doughnuts and onion rings will be against the law.

A sheet of paper that says, Proper Police Procedure. It's all shot up. It's telling me that the police doesn't care about what the proper police procedure is. They are going to shoot reguardless.

I think it's about how the government is going too far trying to baby sit people. Restaurants and food manufacturers should be required to inform the people about the ingredients so they can make their own decision about their menu.

hahahaha. now that transfat is illegal in new york, the cops hang out eating tofu instead of the traditional stereotype of donuts. so it says Dunkin' Tofu instead of Dunkin' Donuts.
