I've tried various window cleaners, but nothing seems to work.

Use a carpentry razor to scrape it off. Be careful..it`s sharp. If there is still some reside, use paint thinner then a glass cleaner to freshen the smell.

Aussie got it, only add soapy water to lubercate the glass first,any kind of soap,hand soap,flush off soap after,because some commercial soaps will melt glass if on too long.

Use a razor blade to scrape it off carefully. Dont' cut yoruself.
