with twins. When I went to my last Dr. appt. they told me I had sugar in my urine and to just watch it! Does that mean I have gestational diabetes? And if I don't do I need to be on some kind of sugar free diet? Whats okay to eat?

You can have sugar in your urine w/o having gestational diabetes. You need to drink more water, no less than 8 glasses a day. I was like that with my last child. If you had it they would have told you. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Lay off of sweets.

It is a possibility but when I was pregnant I constantly had sugar in my urine through out my whole pregnancy but I did not have gestational diabetes. but just in case you should still watch what your sugar intake is.

Your 20 weeks so it's most likly too early for gestational diabetes. They just want to watch you. Your in your second trimester now so instead of using sugar use splenda. Don't drink so much juice, cut it down. And cut down on the sweets so much. You can still live a normal life just not so much soadas and candy.

I agree with daprty but you could be at risk for gestational diabetes. Your weight and diet and family history and number of children you already have play huge factors in your risks of developing diabetes. Most docs don't test for this until 26-30 weeks. Just make sure you are eating healthy and are getting plenty of fluids. You should be just fine. Don't sweat it.

i always tested positive for sugar in my urine because my appts were early in the morning and i had a HUGE thing for fruitloops and fruity pebbles when i was pregant. so i always ate like three bowls before i left the house.

i was negative for gestational diabetes and my song was perfectly healthy.. still is. weight 7 lbs 15 oz when he was born.

You might have it, but probably not if it is a one time thing. Have you eaten a lot of sugar in the past few days? Just watch how much sugar you are taking in and try to cut down on it.
