In the first place, don't fall for any schemes like these guys posted. If you want to start a business it has to be something you understand. Otherwise you can usually kiss your money and time goodbye. You have an entirely decent nest egg. Be proud of that. Figure out something you CAN do and do it.

4 or 5 thousand would be plenty to start your own business and supplement yourself while it gets off the ground.
