because he "had a very shiny nose, and if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows.. all of the other reindeers used to laugh and call him names, they never let poor rudolph join in reindeer games, then one foggy christmas eve Santa came to say, Rudolph with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight..then all the reindeers loved him, as they shouted out with glee, rudolph the red-nose reindeer, you'll go down in history"...

no,but really..have you ever saw the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer movie? remember he saved Christmas that foggy Eve..his nose was bright, so he led Santa to his destinations...
