My son reciently had a motor replaced in a 90 Celica. When he got the car home it ran perfectly.and did for 2 weeks . Last night he was coming home from work and turned into the drive and the car died. It would start for a couple seconds and then die. I replaced the fuel filter and and the fuel pump is working. Does any one out there have any Ideas or suggestions ?

this is what you need to do. You need to narrow down your problem by figuring out if it's one of following needed for a car to run.
1: Spark
2: Fuel
3: Compression
4: Timing
I would start by checking to see if you've got spark, That's the easiest thing to check right off the bat.
If you have no spark, I would suspect ignition module.
Then I would check my fuel pressure. Now even if the fuel pump is pumping, all vehicles require a certain amount of pressure to operate properly. Do this by attaching a fuel pressure gadge to the fuel service port on the fuel rail. If you have 30-45 PSI, if not change fuel pump.
If the pressue is good, then I would have it towed to a professional to check the rest. The average person will have a difficult time checking to make sure timing belt hasn't jumped a few teeth, and they'll more than likely have a the equipment to diagnois the problem quickly and accurately.
Hope this helps you!

Could be a igniter or igniter module.
Or maybe a connection was not plugged in all the way and became disconnected.

Is it getting fire,fuel,and air?

sounds like you should have a talk with your son and beating on his car......and dont sit there and believe he doesnt. were all guilty of doing it at some point in our life. think you two should have a talk about him and taking care of his ****. ....and to stop playing fast and furious......things dont just break....there has to be a reason WHY it broke and a good mechanic can track it down as to the reason why and can also tell you about his driving habits as well
