There are plenty of agencies and things out there like Choicepoint that will do background checks, private investigators. State laws vary, generally you need someones written permission.

well if you're looking to delve into their personal life, i would head to myspace. it's pretty common for the 12-30ish demographic to have a profile. go to the search link at the top of the page and enter their full name, or email address.
