What does that have to do with it?

no it shows lack of caring or sensitivity on the person's part that is breaking it off. there is really no good time to get hurt, christmas is always a happy time, and it's a time of good will, and joy, but not for some. just consider yourself lucky that u now know what this person is all about, some people just have no feeling's at all, as they are not the ones that are being hurt, so they can't feel your hurt, nor do they care.

If you need to break up, the timing doesn't matter, no sense in being fake and acting like nothing is wrong till you find a better time, however as to your question, it may make it harder for the other person or yourself to fondly look forward to the season again.

It's not the nicest thing to do to a person, but then pretending isn't nice either, Breaking up with someone is hard enough just hang on til the first of the year

depends on timing. If you do it TODAY thats alright. If you wait till like christmas eve then your kind of an ***. Its not worth ruining someones holiday over a couple of days is it? And how serious the relationship is. I you were together a long time then it might stick in their brain and depress them everytime that damn holiday comes around!

I think of it this way... If you break up with me after christmas I'll be double upset, cause you broke up with me and cause I spent my money on a present for a jerk, so break up before christmas and save me some time and money!

You could ask yourself that question in another way...is it fair to yourself or the other person to stay with them when you don't want to be with them during Christmas time. I would say "no".

it doesn't matter what time of year it is. if you are breaking up with someone do it as soon as possible allow them the chance to get over you and move on with their life. whether you do it before or after makes no difference expect you have wasted someone's time.

if you are the one being dumped, that's one jerk you won't be spending with this christmas.

The time of year has nothing to do with fairness.

Only if you used till now to be the best option for yourself.Like to avoid the idea of having to buy them something. If you new you didnt want to be with them anymore a long time ago and waited till the hollidays to dump them, then I would have to say it is a bit crappy of you.

life isnt fair. isnt it better to know now? dragging it on will only hurt more and probably cost you money for a gift that wont be appreciated or returned. let it go and move on. there are others out there.
