I have a 4th grader and I'm trying to give her a present that will continue to encourage her to become a good speller. She has watched Akeelah and the Bee and aspires to be like the girl whose life she can identify with because of her circumstances. Any ideas...other than a good dictionary.

The only 'tool' that works if one wants to become a good speller is by writing down the correct spelling of a word multiple times so as to memorize it (in other word to learn by rote).
