Yes.

I want to be saved from a world in which the non-religious and religious are constantly wrapped up in cycles of disdain, suffering, and punishment.

I want to be saved from a world in which we can complain about small portions of food in a restaurant while others are literally dying of hunger.

I want to be saved from a world in which women are beaten, raped, discriminated against, and converted into a "sex class", despite the insistence of non-feminists that "we're pretty much equal."

I want to be saved from a world in which big businesses can run little family-owned shops into the ground, exploit human beings for their ability to work, and then make them pay for their own water.

I want to be saved from a world that is rapidly heating up so that our Arctic ice may be gone by 2040 and polar bears are starting to drown, yet some of the biggest energy-users refuse to help, as though the world isn't one interconnected planet.

I want to be saved from a world that goes through grief, death, heartbreak, disease, famine, murder, vengeance and cruelty.

When Jesus can save me from that world, I will take Him gladly.

But all I can see is that he'll save my personal soul.

And for me to prioritize my personal soul over this beautiful, crumbling little world would be a betrayal of my fellow humans.

So I refuse to be saved.
