Define sustainable tourism?
This is the ability to have Vacationers come back for a second or third time to a Vacation area.
Time share sales in a vacation area is one indication of the popularity of a Vacation area.
As in all business, you want repeat business. The Tourist Dollars are in the Billions of dollars world wide.
I will site One example: A young girl of 13 visits Disney World with her parents..... Ten Years later she goes back to Disney world with her girl friends......Ten years after that, she returns with her husband and her child on a family vacation. The Woman and her family give the parents a 40 year Marriage Anniversary gift...A trip to Disney world. That is an example of sustainable Tourism.
Disney World attracts people to vacation there over and over.
Many people will only vacation in Aruba...I know people who have vacationed in Aruba 10 times or more.
I personally have visited Cancun 7 times and I want to return again on another vacation.
So, Cancun will receive my vacation dollars.
Hope this helps.

Sustainable tourism in its purest sense, is an industry which attempts to make a low impact on the environment and local culture, while helping to generate income, employment, and the conservation of local ecosystems. It is responsible tourism which is both ecologically and culturally sensitive.
