I've been with the same guy for 18+ years and I want it to end. He's lazy, doesn't work and collects disability. If I kick him out, he has no place to live. I also feel quitly about hurting him, but I can't contiue to live like this... Anyone else deal with a simular problem?

honestly hun if you want out then you have pretty much ended it already the only step left is to kick him out. i know it will be hard but you have to think about YOU. if you are not happy with him and i am guessing here then you have already ended it in your own mind and just can't come up with a way to get him out. this has to be your choice and you need to make it soon otherwise you will be miserable for another 18 years. do you want that? don't feel guilty about kickin' him out he is a grown man and if he has income coming in then he will be fine. let him go and do it quick and to the point. matter of fact while he is out pack him a back and tell him to come back for his other things after he finds a place to stay. good luck and i hope you finally get to be happy. =)

If he has a real diability then shame on you. If he is mooching and lazy then you should let him know his sorriness has drivin you to the point you are considering ending it. Maybe he needs a wake up call and you can fix it. Some times it takes a good woman to make a good man out of some one and vise versa. If you haven't told him how you feel about it then it is not fair to just leave with out giving him an honest chance.

This is your life and no one should have to live like that. I think it is the way he is that has made you come to this conclusion, I would tell him that being disabled is no reason for being lazy and that you just can't live like this any longer and that you just want him to know that your next step is asking him to leave or you will be leaving. Do it you only get one life and you can't be there if he is lazy , the worst thing in life is trying to live with someone that is lazy and dirty. Yuck.

If this is the end of an 18 yr relationship he knows you by now .and he knows that you wont do it there comes a time when you have to sink in and go for broke it will hurt at first but in the end you will b oth agree it is for the better . just be blunt and to the point . This is what i want and this is what is going to happen .. be truthful.

When ending a relationship w/a past like yours, there's no better way than to JUST LEAVE and like the other person said, NEVER look back. I've had to end a relationship w/similar problems and it was HARD, but it was the BEST decision I've ever made. Don't feel guilty...you've given him PLENTY of time to get his sh*t together. If he hasn't changed by now, he NEVER will.

Plan you moves. Then write him a dear john letter and move on with your live. In the letter, details the reason why you move on. Hopefully, he may change for the better for his own good.

If you want to, you can give him your email address. In case he wants to talk but no other form of contacts.

That should help him to get through if he cares.

I think the best way would be talking to each other about how his behaviour is effecting your life and let him know how down he is in your eyes just because of what he does.
I think, just to finish such a long relation of 18 years in a click is a dumb thing to do!

The same way you end any relationship. Get out.

Don't kick him out, leave him. You stay because you don't want to hurt him, but you are unhappy. The guilt will go away.
